Your fascias and soffits do far more than finish off your roof. They shield exposed rafters from moisture, support your guttering system and keep pests out of your loft space. When they start to fail, the knock-on damage can be costly. Upgrading to uPVC is the smart, long-lasting fix.
Greater Manchester’s wet, unpredictable climate puts constant pressure on your roofline. Fascias and soffits sit at the first line of defence – channelling rainwater into the guttering system and sealing the gap between your roof edge and external walls. When they deteriorate, water gets in.
Rotten or damaged boards can lead to damp in your loft, structural damage to rafters and pest ingress through gaps in the boards. Replacing failing timber with uPVC solves the problem permanently, without the ongoing maintenance cost.
Many roofline companies will simply cap over your existing timber boards to save time and cut costs. We don’t. At Weather Shield North West, we remove the old timber as standard before installing your new uPVC roofline system – every time, on every job.
Why does that matter? Capping over damaged or deteriorating timber traps moisture, accelerates decay and stores up far more expensive problems for later. It’s a short-term fix that masks the real issue rather than solving it.
Full replacement is the only way to guarantee a clean, lasting result – and it’s the only approach we recommend. With over 20 years of industry experience, our advice is always based on what’s right for your home, not what’s quickest to fit.

Perfect from start to finish! Salesman Darrell was very personable, not pushy at all and very thorough. He gave us a great price. The surveyor turned up on time and was very friendly. The lady in the office arranged the time and date for the work to be done and she was really friendly too. The two brothers removed the existing garage roof and installed the new one. They were superb. Utterly professional, great sense of humour and explained every step. They left the site in an immaculate condition and contacted the recycling company to remove the old roof who arrived right on time. Cannot stress how impressed we are with every person from this company who we came in contact with. Fab ambassadors, all of them Thank you!

Absolutely chuffed with the work carried out on our home! We had a skylight installed in our orangery and new double-glazed windows fitted throughout. The whole process has been so efficient, quick and professional. The lads who carried out the work were brilliant - so friendly, respectful and tidy, leaving everything neat and clean as they went. Communication from start to finish has also been fantastic. I’m absolutely chuffed with the finished result. It has completely transformed our home, making such a difference to the space, warmth and overall feel.

Quality uPVC roofline products typically last 20 to 30 years. They require no painting or sealing and hold their colour and shape throughout, even in harsh weather conditions.
